In a show of support for the College of Computing and Informatics’ Women in Computing Initiative, the Charlotte chapter of the Society of Information Management (SIM) has established a $25,000 endowed scholarship, the first $15,000 of which will be distributed in the Spring of 2016.

Congratulations to Department of Sofrtware and Information Systems' faculty members Mary Lou Maher, Department Chair, Celine Latulipe, Associate Professor, Heather Lipford, Associate Professor, and David Wilson, Professor, for a nice writeup in the ACM Interactions magazine about the "UNC Charlotte HCI/InDe Lab.

The annual Cyber Security Symposium was held on the campus of University of North Carolina at Charlotte on October 14, 2015.

College of Computing and Informatics students Junjie Shan and Jinyue Xia were members of the second place team that participated in HackNC 2015 held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
